Cupping Notes: Tropical, Citronella, lemon balm
The El Mirador farm was founded in 1972 in the village of San Agustin, municipality of Planadas, Tolima, Colombia, at an altitude of 1750-1830 MASL. The farm was founded by Jose Elicio Gutierrez and Luz Elida Aviles. It has an extension of 10 hectares, of which 7 are cultivated in coffee with the following varieties: caturra, colombia, Castillo in the traditional varieties and in exotics it has Gesha, wush wush, maragogype, java, and Pink Bourbon.
in 2010, the son of Elicio and Luz Elida, Victor began administering the farm and renovation coffee lots and planting exotics. Victor also began learning to better process coffees and to cup, later earning the Q Grader certification. The Gutierrez family is dedicated to the production of differentiated coffees in the new fermentation and drying protocols that have been developed over the years and also have organic certification and fair trade where the main objective is to contribute to the environment with the conversion of soils, fauna, and flora. The farm is cultivated under a semi-shade system, being more friendly with nature.
